O jornal inglês New Musical Express revelou sua lista de indicados ao prêmio Shockwave NME que terá sua festa dia 25 de fevereiro em Londres na Brixton Academy. O grupo Oasis teve o maior número de indicações, sete, por conta de seu último disco, "Dig Out Your Soul", saudado pela crítica como uma volta aos bons dias da banda. Em compensação também foi indicada como pior banda. O guitarrista Noel Galagher, indicado a mais bem vestido, reclamou que queria ser indicado como mais bem vestido do mundo.
Alex Turner conseguiu seis indicações solo, com os Arctic Monkeys e com os Last Shadow Puppets. Kings Of Leon, MGMT Radiohead e Vampire Weekend foram indicados em várias categorias. Há categorias que incluem políticos. Fundado em 1953, o vencedores do prêmio NME são escolhidos pelo voto popular.
