Nick Lowe mudou o Natal para julho, conforme ele mesmo diz. E você pode escutar o novo disco dele, com composições novas e outras já clássicas. O disco chama-se Quality Street: A Seasonal Selection For All The Family.

Mesmo sem ainda ter sido oficialmente lançado, já dá para ouvir na íntegra, mas é bem possível que o link do YouTube seja “assassinado” a qualquer momento. Então aproveite enquanto é possível.

O músico e produtor inglês, influente no punk e pós-punk, é parceiro de Elvis Costello para quem criou alguns hits e é reverenciado por gente como David Bowie e Wilco (com quem fez shows recentemente).

Quality Street: A Seasonal Selection For All The Family, a twinkling blend of traditional hymns, forgotten gems and Lowe originals. From the opening rockabilly-charged Children Go Where I Send Thee and the comfy hush of Christmas Can’t Be Far Away, the record includes the beatnik bop of Hooves on the Roof (written especially for the project by Ron Sexsmith), Roger Miller’s wistful classic Old Toy Trains, before wrapping up with a ska-flavoured take on I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day. Nick describes this album as, “a sleigh bell-free zone.”
