A revista masculina norte-americana "Esquire" divulgou em seu site nesta segunda-feira (9) uma lista com "75 discos que todo homem deve ter". A "Esquire" adverte de antemão que a lista não tem nenhuma ordem específica e que ela é "incompleta", mas traz álbuns essenciais para qualquer coleção de música pop.

A seleção passa por vários gêneros, incluindo punk (Ramones, Clash, Minor Threat), soul (Otis Redding, Ray Charles, Temptations) e hip-hop (NaS, Notorious B.I.G., Beastie Boys), entre outros. A lista também varia entre artistas consagrados (Beatles, Rolling Stones, David Bowie) e bandas mais obscuras (Explosions In The Sky, Luna, Bill Calahan). Outro ponto é a pequena quantidade de mulheres citadas – só Tina turner (em parceria com o ex-marido Ike) e Liz Phair estão listadas.
